I offer poetry writing workshops for adult groups and high school students, as well as individual coaching in several areas, often on the intersection of Poetry and Art.

Workshops generally include these ideas:

— The importance of noticing…
— Exercises with prompts for beginning the writing process to limber up sensory synapses
— Discussion: drafting then editing, editing, editing!
— Contemplation and close attention, on several levels, to personal reactions
— Sharing poems for constructive feedback
If ekphrastic focus, viewing various works of art by both well- and lesser known artists
— Discussion: how to examine a work of art initially
— All of the first five bulleted points above
— Finally, discussion: submitting work for publication to literary journals and magazines. Here, workshop participants who have been published can share ideas and experiences with those participants who are still seeking publication
